I had hamsters growing up, man those things spawned and died with the greatest of ease...except one I called the homing hamster. he was the last of the brood, the lone survivor and it was time to move on and let him go into the wild, so I took him to a field near my house (400-500 yards away) and let him go...2 days later he is in my driveway looking confused. I feed and give him water and a few days later try again, this time further away in the field and I don't take a direct path. # days later my brothers friend brings in a very confused looking hamster from the driveway so I decided he was worth keeping and put him back and then he died the next morning.
